RULES AND REGULATIONS OF BASKETBALL LEAGUE

• Team Dues must be received by October 22, 2004. (TOTAL AMOUNT) Once received, dues are not refundable for any reason.
• All participants must have a valid government id in order to play. (All participants government ids must be photocopy along with the team roster.) All participants must fill out a waiver form in order to play.
• Games will be played under college rules. There will be two 20-minute halves. Total minutes of regulation games are 40 minutes. Clock only stops on a shooting foul or a timeout.
• Teams will get three full times out and two 30 second time outs each half. If games go into overtime you will be granted one full time out. All overtime games will be played under five-minute halves. Any time outs not use during the end of the 2nd half will be carried over into overtime. There will be only two overtime halves if teams are tied up at the end of the second overtime then both teams will be credit as a tie in the record book.
• Players will be allowed to commit five fouls during each game. Once a player has committed his or her fifth foul, he or she has fouled out and may no longer participate in that game.
• Fighting in the league is grounds for automatic dismissal from league play. (No refund)
• All teams must have the same team jersey on at each and every game. All players must be suited up in order to play. If players do not have team jersey he or she can not participate in that game. If a player attempts to play without a team jersey and have the same color jersey as the team colors then the opposing team will get possession and get two technical foul shots, and the individual will not be able to play. (Players bring your jerseys so there will be no problems)
• Before each game all players participating in the game must check in at the scorer's table in order to play.
• The maximum players to a team is fifteen.
• If the players or coaches get two technical fouls for the same act, it is up to the board member present at the game to vote if the player or coach should be suspended from a future game(s).
• Under no circumstance will a player be allowed to touch a referee in a wrongful act or give verbal abuse towards the referees. Under such act the referee will put that person out the game and individual will be suspended during the next game.
• All team numbers must be visible in order for the referee to identify.
• Participants remember there are ten teams so make sure if you want a certain team color then you need to turn in team roster, team dues, and color of jersey ASAP if you want a particular color.
• Tournament games are one game elimination. Only eight teams are invited to tournament. The worst two teams are ineligible to participate.
• If games are tied up at the end of regulation then participants will play in a five minute over-time half. There will be only two over-time halves allowed and if at the end of the second over-time game is tied then the game will end at a tie.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED !!!

"Come join the best government basketball league ever assembled," league organizer William D Young said. "The league is in its second season, and we are looking for individuals who love basketball and are willing to be part of history." Volunteers are needed to fill eight positions, including those of statistician and scorekeeper.

Description:
Statistician- records fouls committed by each individual in a game, the number of time-outs used by each team, the number of team fouls, and game scores for individuals and teams.

Scorekeeper- operates a scoreboard and keeps scores for both teams, record fouls committed by each team, controls possession arrow and game clock, and tracks both teams' substitute players as they enter play throughout the games.

Individuals with no experience for these positions will be trained.
