As you may know, the NIHGA has over the last several years been actively considering increasing its yearly dues, but has been able to postpone that increase for at least the last four years.  Our league cash reserves were the greatest during the 2000 - 2005 golf seasons when are membership was at and all time high (i.e. 165).

Our financial outlook for 2008, based on our Treasurer's report, indicates that our cash reserves are being used up due to the higher costs of trophies and purchase of the other NIHGA prizes.  For these reasons, the NIHGA Board of Directors has voted unanimously to increase the NIHGA dues from $25.00 to $30.00 for the 2008 golf season.  This increase, we trust you will understand, is to assure that our expenses not exceed our incoming funds. Our membership at the end of the 2007 season was 143 members.

The NIHGA is encouraging all our NIHGA members to call your Team Captain and the "golf course" should you at the last minute be unable to participate due to inclement weather or for personal reasons. As you may know, the NIHGA must contract to a minimum number of players at each course and should that minimum not be met the NIHGA is under a contractual obligation to pay for any "no shows". The NIHGA is meeting on this matter and hopes to publish a written policy on this matter shortly.
