STROKE-PLAY HANDICAPS
| STROKE-PLAY HANDICAPS ARE COMPUTED AFTER SCORES FROM THE PREVIOUS ROUND HAVE BEEN ENTERED AND HANDICAP INDEXES HAVE BEEN RECOMPUTED. ACTUAL HANDICAPS ARE BASED ON THE HANDICAP INDEX AND THE RATING/SLOPE OF THE TEES USED BY THE INDIVIDUAL. |
Stroke-play handicap indexes for returning players were computed following the last stroke-play outing of the previous season. The initial handicap index for new members will be zero unless they have a valid USGA handicap, if they have one. After a new member has completed two rounds of stroke play, he/she will have an NIHGA handicap index based on the scores from those first two rounds. |

MATCH PLAY HANDICAPS
Match-play handicaps are computed after scores from the final stroke-play round have been entered and handicap indexes have been recomputed. Match-play scores are not used in the computation of the player's handicap index. Actual handicaps used in the match are based on the handicap index and the course rating/slope of the tees used by the individual. Please, note that each player must play from the same set of tees (back, middle, senior or front) that he/she used during the stroke-play season.
