The outing at Beaver Creek was interrupted by lightning with most players needing between two and five holes to complete their rounds.  Most players went back out to finish but about one-quarter did not.  The NIHGA Board of Directors decided, for this outing, to allow the scores of those players to be counted toward their teams' scores so long as 13 or more holes had been completed (this is the normal requisite for a score to be counted for handicap.)  An expected score based on par and the player's handicap was inserted for each hole without a score.  The requirement that the scorecard must be signed has also been relaxed for this outing. To supply information for the team captains, symbols have been added at the right for players affected by this waiver of the normal requirements:

         * At least 13 but less than 18 holes completed

         # Round completed but scorecard unsigned

A formal rule to cover these situations for future outings will be developed by the Board in the near future.
