REVISED TEE SELECTION RULE
Effective 5/1/2010

From the President:

It has come to our attention that their appears to be confusion as to the applicability of the selection of our senior tees.  After review of our RULE 5J it appears that the NIHGA has never truly defined who actually is eligible to use the senior tees.  For these reasons, RULE 5J is revised, effective 5/1/2010.  The revision is as follows:

"Men, normally, play from the middle tees and women play from the forward tees. As a courtesy to NIHGA members, men may choose to play from either the back, middle, or senior tees and women may choose any of the four sets of tees. A member selecting the senior tees must have reached his 60th birthday on or before the date of the first NIHGA stroke play golf outing of the season. The set of tee selections must be consistent throughout the entire golf season, including match-play events. The selection of tees is to be made at the member's first golf outing of the season. Any breach of this rule, will be considered by the NIHGA, and penalties may include disqualification of scores and nonparticipation in individual and team NIHGA awards. An NIHGA member younger that 60 [years old] who has a disability may apply to the NIHGA for permission to use the senior tees, accordingly."

Starting at the Raspberry Falls outing on May 4, 2010, male members who have been playing the senior tees but do not qualify to do so must use the middle or back tees for the rest of the season.  If you are required to change, please mark your scorecard clearly.  The handicapper will adjust your handicap before entering your score.
