The APAO mission is to support the efforts and programs of the NIH that promote equality and fairness in the workplace for all NIH employees. The APAO addresses the needs of APA employees relating to:

(1) employee representation in the work force;

(2) its relationships with other national and community organizations;

(3) its research, education, outreach and other programs, goals and policies.

The APAO's purpose is to accomplish its mission by serving as an independent resource, analyst, facilitator, spokesperson and advocate for the ethnic APA employees to the leadership and operational components of NIH and DHHS, and other agencies.
