NIH Aikido Club


Aikido has returned to the NIH campus!

Aikido classes have resumed on the NIH campus. Class is held in the Fitness Center located on level B4 of building 31A.

Sensei Irvin Vann will be absent until September 7th, 2005. Aikido Classes will resume Wednesday September 7th at 7:00 PM. Please consult our website for any updates to this schedule. Have a good summer.

Class times are:

Wednesday 7:00 - 8:00PM

Saturday 10:30 - 12:00 Noon

Fridays (As Announced)

 

About the Aikido Club:

The Aikido Club works closely with the NIH Tae Kwon Do School providing students the opportunity to learn either or both arts.

Wednesday nights are focused on using Aikido principles for practical self-defense.

Saturdays are focused on traditional Aikido training including using the bokken (sword), the jo (staff), and empty hand techniques.

Students of other Martial Arts practising at NIH are welcomed to attend if they are able roll and fall.

Student wishing to begin Aikido who have no Martial Arts experience please contact the instructor to schedule a begining date.

Visitors are always welcomed!

About the Instructor:

Sensei Irvin Vann has been training in Aikido for over 10 years. He is a Nidan (2nd degree blackbelt) and member of the Aikido Association of America (AAA).
