Other Group-led Hikes

Here, in alphabetic order, is a sampling of some of the many clubs and organizations in the Washington, D.C. area that welcome your participation in their hikes.

Capital Hiking Club leads hikes every Sunday, usually traveling by bus. 
Northern Virginia Hiking Club welcomes everyone to join. Non-members pay guest fee of $1 per hike. See the website for information or phone (703)440-1805
Potomac Appalachian Trail Club (PATC) offers many hikes each month including weekdays. See the website for information or phone (703) 242-0315.
Sierra Club offers a great variety of hikes at all levels of difficulty, from downtown DC to the mountains. 
Wanderbirds Hiking Club organizes two day hikes every Sunday, year round, for energetic folks in the Washington, DC area.
Washington Women Outdoors (WWO) offers outdoor skill training for women in a variety of outdoor sports, including hiking and backpacking.
