NIHSA Hot Shot Regatta – October 4, 2008

Five NIHSA Flying Scots race for the Hot Shot title 
on a warm and sunny day with light winds.

Officials run the race from the Committee Boat, Bob Musson's Piratizer (on the left).

Boats vie for position at the starting line.

Five races give plenty of opportunity.

Raising the spinnaker is always a challenge.

Let's get the spinnaker filled and catch up!

How sweet it is!  They raced to victory on Breezy!
Winning crew Altan Gabbay and John Stout celebrate with 2008 Hot Shot Skipper Lev Sirota.

2nd place (Anna): Skipper Antonio Rebelo,  Silvina Horvitz, Charles Fraser

3rd place (Pinch): Skipper Janet Nelson,  Chris Kelley, Bob Strang

4th place (Boomer): Brian Bates,  Skipper Peter Preusch, Jean Band

5th place (Mistral): Ryszard Pluta,  Skipper Betty Lee, Craig Sager.

Racing Chair John Stout organized the Regatta, and Harry Brodie was Principal Race Officer.
On the Race Committee were Debbie Parshall, Andi Balbo, Jim Mehlinger, Trish Rohan, 
Jim Weed, Shawn Mullen, Ian Oppenheim, and Alison Skeel.
Nick and Karen Tountas drove the mark set and crash boat.
Shawn organized the pizza for the awards ceremony and Alison brought the libations.
